Outside Scholarship Resources

Many organizations offer scholarships to help students pay for college. In addition to the resources listed below, students may find scholarship opportunities through banks, credit unions, employers, chambers of commerce, community foundations and other local organizations.

Minnesota State Moorhead is not affiliated with or endorses the organizations listed below. Scholarship opportunities, deadlines, eligibility requirements and award amounts are determined by the sponsoring organization and may change. Always research scholarship opportunities carefully, never pay to apply for a scholarship and verify information directly with the provider.

If you receive an outside scholarship, please submit any scholarship checks to the Office of Scholarship & Financial Aid and include your name and StarID/DragonID.

How Outside Scholarships Affect Financial Aid

Federal financial aid regulations require that a student's total financial aid does not exceed their cost of attendance. As a result, receiving an outside scholarship may affect your financial aid package. If adjustments are necessary, the Office of Scholarship & Financial Aid typically reduces loans or work-study before reducing grants or scholarships.
